Concerns raised by a local resident about safety at the Town Row and Melwood Drive junction prompted David Brookes-Lennon, Phil Brookes-Lennon and Graham Hulme to take up the issue with Liverpool City Council.
Following the campaign, the council agreed to install filter lights at the junction. These are intended to make turning movements safer and improve the junction for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
With work now under way, the team has visited the junction to see the progress. We know the roadworks and diversions have caused considerable disruption, and we have been sharing updates to help residents plan their journeys.
Keeping children safe
The junction improvements are welcome, but our concerns about road safety do not end there.
We are continuing to call for a school crossing patrol for St Paul's. Children and families need safe routes to school, and the absence of a patrol remains an issue we want the council to address.

Our latest residents' survey also asks about bins being removed, rubbish and concerns about rats in the neighbourhood.
If your bin has been taken away, or you have noticed problems near your home, please tell us. Your experiences help us understand what is happening locally and raise specific concerns with the council.
Whether it is road safety, rubbish or another neighbourhood issue, we want to hear from you. David, Phil and Graham are working together across West Derby Leyfield, Sandfield Park and West Derby Deysbrook to listen to residents and press for practical improvements.
